Forge, a member of Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services, is a gene therapy development engine, focused on enabling access to life changing gene therapies and helping bring them from idea into reality. We partner with innovators in the gene therapy community: scientists, physicians, biotech/pharma companies, and patient groups. About The Role
We are currently seeking a Sr. HR Generalist to join the Forge Biologics team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and be part of a team that will be instrumental to the growth of the organization. The Sr. HR Generalist performs a variety of complex human resources duties partnering closely with senior HR management and various managers across Forge Biologics in supporting HR processes and department-specific strategies. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.
The Sr. HR Generalist is an essential part of the Human Resources team and will report to the Associate Director, Human Resources. This position will be based in Columbus, Ohio and allows for a hybrid work schedule.
What You'll Do
- Provides HR consultation and support to department managers and employees for assigned business units.
- Build and maintain positive coaching relationships with managers and leaders and provide guidance and support in addressing employee development and disciplinary matters.
- Coordinate and conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Conducts prompt, thorough, and neutral workplace investigations.
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Maintains proper documentation, partners with leadership on outcome, and ensures timely resolution and follow-up on employee relations issues.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and engagement; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Updates HRIS with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information.
- Assist in workers' compensation process, including claims management, employee communication, and related investigations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources, with a focus on employee relations and performance management.
- Software skills, including a high level of knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and familiarity with an HRIS.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Employment Laws (EEO, ADA, AA, FMLA, etc.).
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and an ability to maintain strict privacy of confidential data and information.
- Ability to shift priorities quickly.
- Work well as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Lattice.
- HR certification (SHRM, HRCI, or PHR).
- Prior experience in a startup.
