If so, Virtus invites you to apply today!The Technical Data Analyst is a key role in Virtus’s growing Tech/Dev practice possess strong analytical skills combined with technical expertise to process and analyze complex datasets. The ideal candidate will have experience with data management, coding, database querying, and the ability to implement advanced analytical models. You will collaborate with multiple teams to transform raw data into actionable insights, contributing to improvements and strategic decisions.  To be successful as a consultant, you should demonstrate great skill in creativity and innovation, ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Management: Extract, transform, load (ETL) large datasets from multiple sources using SQL, Python, or other data tools.
  • Data Analysis: Perform advanced data analysis, including statistical modeling, predictive analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • Automation: Develop automated reporting and data pipelines to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Data Integration: Work with internal databases and third-party APIs to ensure seamless integration of data for analysis.
  • Data Visualization: Create clear, concise, and interactive dashboards or reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting to resolve complex data-related issues.
  • Collaboration: Work with data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to design data solutions, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update technical documentation for data processes, workflows, and systems.

Required Skills:


  • Proficiency in SQL: Strong experience in writing complex queries, data manipulation, and database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Programming Skills: Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala for data manipulation and analysis.
  • ETL Processes: Understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) workflows and tools such as Airflow, Talend, or Informatica.
  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for creating insightful dashboards and reports.
  • Statistics and Mathematics: Strong foundation in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Cloud & Big Data Tools: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and big data frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark.
  • Scripting & Automation: Experience automating data workflows and processes using scripting languages or workflow tools.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and the ability to work with data scientists to develop predictive models.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience with APIs and data integration from third-party services.
  • Data governance knowledge to ensure proper data quality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Experience with DevOps practices for managing data infrastructure and pipelines.

Soft Skills:


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into business recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy.

Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical data analyst or related role.
