The Hatcher Group seeks a talented UX/UI designer with at least 15 years’ experience to design beautifully crafted web experiences for our suite of clients. The successful candidate will join a fun and hard-working team primarily supporting a mission-driven government client. You will also be expected to contribute to the development of web products for other clients across all client types and sectors. The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute positively to a team environment rooted in the firm’s core values, upholding our community guidelines.  
At Hatcher, we proudly maintain a "flexible first" work culture. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to our Bethesda office for weekly in-person collaboration. The target salary range for this position is $135,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and internal equity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  


  • Design and refine the customer interface to create a meaningful customer experience.    


  • Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into user-friendly design solutions for the restricted web presence including resiliency application and childcare solution integrations, secondary data system interface, and warehouse fulfillment interface.   


  • Execute wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating on high-fidelity designs that prioritize both aesthetic appeal and usability.   


  • Engage in continuous iteration based on research, user feedback, usability testing, and analytics, ensuring that the website's design evolves to meet evolving user expectations.   


  • Support and advocate for WCAG and 508 compliances.   


  • Provide a bridge between design aesthetics and functional usability, contributing to the overall performance and user satisfaction of the digital platform.   


  • Adhere to client design systems and brand guidelines. 

Qualifications and Skills:  


  • Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant UX/UI experience 


  • Active Secret clearance required 


  • SME-level knowledge of front-end functionality to human-computer interaction  


  • Compelling design portfolio that demonstrates visual skills and proof of process 


  • A passion and capacity to advocate user experience to clients and peers  


  • Proficiency in Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite  


  • Effective observational, listening, verbal, and written communication skills   


  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills  


  • Ability to take direction, work efficiently with a team, and adhere to tight deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously 


  • Ability to share and communicate complex concepts   


  • Any level of front-end knowledge is a plus (HTML, CSS, and Javascript)  


  • Understanding of the relationship between front-end design and back-end content management using CMS platforms like Adobe AEM is a plus 


  • Ability to speak, read, and write English with proficiency 


  • Must be a US Citizen
