Makpar has an exciting opportunity for a rising Junior Developer (L1or 2) to join our growing team as a Full Stack Developer. This role will be involved in developing mobile applications to support Federal business functions with full software development lifecycle using user experience, back-end programming, and data management.
This is a rapid prototype development environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have a sound background in computer sciences, programming and IT services, with a continuous desire to learn and grow.
Role Specific Duties:
- Resourcefulness, high level of collaboration, team player, communication/ability to tap into resources, drive, initiative to see a problem and solve it without being told
- Ability to take into account the customer landscape, having the ITPM and product owner at nearly all agile ceremonies
- Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other developers to design, develop, and implement front-end and back-end features for the Portal platform.
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications with a strong focus on user experience and usability.
- Build and integrate APIs to connect front-end applications with back-end services and databases.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Follow Agile principles and Customer Experience methodologies.
- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure software quality through testing and debugging.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, bringing innovative ideas to the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer (primarily Back-end), with a proven track record of delivering high-quality applications.
- Hands on React Native front-end development experience
- Back end development experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Databaricks, or other server side technologies such as Kafka, Databricks, as well as serverless services
- Familiarity of Mobile framework, lifecycle and package deployment
- Demonstrated proficiency with AWS Cloud services.
- Knowledge of Java, Python, C#, or other structured or object-oriented programming languages
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline integration and test automation using Github and similar tools.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, JIRA) and mobile app deployment process is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience in projects related to government services, customer experience, or financial services is a plus.
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
