Team Overview:
The Investment Strategy and Risk Management (ISRM) team is responsible for oversight of and input into the top-down portfolio construction of the Firm’s portfolios and ensuring client portfolios appropriately capture the Firm’s bottom-up investment recommendations.This is a highly visible role which will feature interaction with Senior Management across various investment teams as well as the client-facing part of the organization.
Summary:
This role is well suited for candidates interested in assisting in the management of high performing private market portfolios. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, communication skills, and an interest in investment strategy and be able to multi-task in a collaborative culture with frequent project deadlines. This role is not appropriate for candidates interested in doing bottom-up deal or fund selection. This is a hybrid role with a mix of remote and in office work.Key responsibilities include:
- Work with ISRM and investment teams to optimize performance of Adams Street’s portfolios through disciplined fund management across a variety of rapidly growing strategies and structures.
- Prepare investment allocations for both fund and direct investments across all Adams Street strategies.
- Monitor client portfolios across different risk tolerances, investment objectives and phases of the investment life cycle.
- Work across various internal teams to coordinate the sourcing, maintenance, and usage of investment data.
- Contribute to the marketing of all strategies by supporting Investor Relations and ISRM with RFPs, and other internal/external ad hoc data requests.
Candidate Requirements:We seek an individual who is self-disciplined, demonstrates excellent attention to detail and has the following characteristics:
- 2-4 years of experience in finance, consulting, investment management, or related field.
- Undergraduate degree in Math, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field. Candidate should have an interest in investment risk management and asset allocation.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and independently execute assigned projects.
- Maintains accuracy and quality when working within tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (knowledge of R, database design, developing analytical tools are a plus).
- Interest in or current pursuit of the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is desired.
