- Ensure all processes are conducted within the standards, policies, procedures and protocols established by Eversight and EBAA Medical Standards, as well as other regulatory agencies.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities in all Recovery affiliated functions. Lead the development and implementation of new or revised processes.
- Performs technical procedures as trained, including tissue recovery such as situ human eye enucleations, corneal excisions, or other ocular tissue recoveries. Make appropriate procurement determinations based on donor, medical and body inspection information.
- Perform administrator-On-Call (AOC) duties on a consistent rotating on-call basis.
- Tracks employee proficiency in meeting competency markers and conduct regular competency reviews for all clinical staff.
- Coordinate inter and intradepartmental in-service opportunities and serve as a resource and subject matter expert on these skills.
- Participate in the Quality Improvement Program by proactively identifying, testing and implementing process/outcome improvement opportunities.
- Maintain professional relationships with physicians, their staff, hospital/surgical center staff, peers, other eye banks, and other agencies.
- Prepare and manage department budget. Report on variances, as required.
- Assist in developing research protocols related to tissue recovery.
- Observe strict confidentiality of donor and recipient information.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional organizations, etc.
- Competently perform all department duties to include providing weekend coverage and work on-call shifts as needed.
- Leads team effectively by demonstrating Eversight’s Frontline Leadership Competencies, and performs leadership activities of: performance management and coaching, training and development, expectation and priority setting, workflow management, hiring and retention, and corrective action.

QualificationsEducation:Undergraduate studies in related field preferred. Eye banking certification (CEBT) preferred or the ability to attain the certification.Experience:Previous supervisory experience in a clinical setting is mandatory.Skills:Strong communication and organizational skill. Ability to effectively plan and execute complex tasks. Ability to interact professionally with peers and healthcare staff. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.Knowledge:Proficiency in MS Office.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Work Environment & Physical DemandsAdministrative functions: Work is performed in a normal office environment. Routine use of computer, cell phone and fax. Limited noise, room temperature fluctuation and dust are possible.For clinical functions: Work is performed in a laboratory setting or a patient care setting, such as a hospital operating room or morgue, with potential exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous materials. Turning of a donor of up to 400 pounds, pushing a stretcher/morgue cart with a body of up to that weight and/or lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.
Time is spent sitting for long periods of time, as well as standing and walking. Simultaneous use of both hands is required. Movements such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending are sometimes required. Audio, visual and verbal functions are vital aspects of this position. Limited noise, room temperature fluctuation and dust are possible. Routine use of computer.
