Overview
The Principal Product Designer will be a key player in our UX strategy, combining hands-on design work with strategic input. This role will lead by example, actively creating and iterating on designs while also providing direction for the UX team. You'll be deeply involved in the early stages of ideation and feature development, creating compelling user journeys based on customer insights. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams, you'll develop visionware, prototypes, and visual explorations to demonstrate the value and usability of new features.
This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and practical execution.The ideal candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on practitioner, able to roll up their sleeves to create exceptional designs while also driving the overall UX vision for the product.
What you will do
- Lead product design efforts through hands-on work, creating high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and user flows
- Conduct and participate in user research initiatives to inform design decisions
- Create UX artifacts (journey maps, wireframes, prototypes) to explore and communicate design concepts
- Develop and present UX visions and strategies to stakeholders, translating user needs and design concepts into business value
- Collaborate with Product Management to align product design with product and business goals
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure technical feasibility of product designs and participate in implementation discussions
- Promote design thinking across the organization
- Advocate for and implement UX best practices
- Lead design sprints and collaborative ideation sessions
- Support the iterative development of team design practices
Requirements
What you need
- 10+ years of experience in product design
- 5+ years of experience leading product design work for B2B SaaS products
- Proven track record of shipping valuable features in a fast-paced SaaS environment
- A portfolio demonstrating strong aesthetic sensibilities, a clear end-to-end product design process, and high quality UI/UX work.
- Expertise in user-centered design methodologies and design thinking
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Experience in rapid prototyping and creating compelling product visions
- Ability to balance hands-on design work with strategic thinking
- Strong understanding of UI design principles, interaction design patterns, and front-end technologies
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate design decisions and influence product strategy
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams in an agile setting
- Experience mentoring or managing senior designers and/or other highly talented resources.
- Use data to inform and advocate for design decisions

- Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative user research methods
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
