Description
Clearstory is seeking a senior backend software developer in the Philippines to help build a world-class engineering team. You will build out a new software category within the massive trillion dollar commercial construction industry. We have a hands-on culture and expect the same of our developers. You will work on teams with members from the US and around the world, and will need at least 6 hours of overlap with our 9-5 US/Pacific time day. (12 AM - 8 AM Philippines time)
About the Role
As a senior backend Golang developer you will be working on the core feature team, reporting to our core team lead, to build our customer facing software. This includes maintaining shared golang packages and working on the core API that serves our web and mobile application clients. This cross functional team is directly contributing to the foundation of our SaaS based offering and is highly collaborative with other teams in the company.There are plenty interesting technical challenges to solve and creative opportunities.
Being able to problem solve, having attention to detail, and being accountable for testing your work before "throwing it over the fence" is important for this role. We are currently migrating a monolithic API in Node.js to a more distributed service oriented architecture in Golang.This is your chance to join a team that is bringing game-changing technology to an underserved, static, pen-and-paper part of the commercial construction industry. As an earlier-stage company, you have the ability to make an immediate impact with a product that already has product market fit and a growing user base.

Requirements
As a great fit for this role, you will have...
- 5+ years of backend web API software development experience using Golang
- 5+ years of experience with SQL databases (we use MySQL and Postgres)
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Experience with async jobs and design patterns
- Experience with Node.js is a plus
- Experience with SDLC processes, Agile, and working with a team of engineers and QA resources
In addition, we'd love to talk if you have...
- Experience working in an environment that meets SOC 2 Type II requirements, GDPR, CCPA
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Previous experience working in the commercial construction tech industry
