If position is filled at a managerial-level, it will be an exempt role with an annual salary ($55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience). Organizational Summary Girls on the Run Philadelphia (GOTRP) is a local nonprofit organization that operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International (GOTRI).

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our program currently serves Philadelphia and Bucks Counties. We have served over 6,800 girls at over 140 sites across our region since 2013. GOTRP is committed to ensuring every girl in our community can participate in our life-changing program by providing subsidized registration fees for over 75% of our participants annually. They should possess a passion for and commitment to the mission and vision of Girls on the Run, improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades and must have the ability to effectively and persuasively communicate the core values and impact of the GOTR program with confidence. This individual must be creative, highly detail oriented and able to manage multiple, competing priorities, while providing an exceptional level of service to volunteer stakeholders and working collaboratively as a key member of a small, dedicated team.Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee Girls on the Run's programming, including program creation/expansion.
- Confer monthly with the Internal Affairs committee to assess site recruitment and retention efforts, as well as progress toward strategic goals.
- Use budget as a guide to ensure that earned income goals will be met through registration fees each season.
- Coordinate program logistics, including coach bag preparation and distribution.
- Steward prospective new sites through education about the program, application to host the program, and all aspects of site onboarding and communication.
- Program shirt coordination.
- Oversee logistics, with the support of other Girls on the Run of Philadelphia staff, and co-facilitate council’s coach training, as well as coach meetings.
- Manage program registration, processing, and dissemination of information to the Girls on the Run community.
- Communicate regularly and clearly with volunteers and caregivers throughout GOTR season.
- Ability to navigate sensitive situations, including policy infractions committed by participants, caregivers, and volunteers.
- Ensure all volunteer coaches are recruited, trained, evaluated and recognized each season.
- Work with GOTRI to ensure all volunteer coaches meet requirements (i.e., background check and First Aid / CPR certification).
- With the support of Girls on the Run Philadelphia staff and Board members, ensure all program sites are delivering the curriculum properly without alteration.
- Respond to all questions and concerns from caregivers, coaches and site liaisons in a timely fashion.
- Serve as a substitute coach as needed.
- Represent GOTR at various marketing and expo events (PA Conference for Women, community outreach events, etc.).
- Collaborate with colleagues to generate content that promotes the program for Girls on the Run social media channels.
- Support Council 5K events, annual Sneaker Soirée, other special events, and fundraising campaigns.
General Responsibilities
- Support the Executive Director as necessary.
- Serve as a role model for GOTR, exhibiting GOTR core values and mission.
- Develop positive relationships with volunteers, Board and Associate Board members, community and staff.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by the Girls on the Run Philadelphia Board of Directors.
Qualifications + Experience
- Understanding of Positive Youth Development and Character Development programming.
- 2+ years of relevant education or work experience
- Personal passion for the mission of GOTR and ability to articulate the mission and vision to program stakeholders.
- Excellent project management and communication with diverse audiences. Collaboration and team participation skills. Detail-oriented, self-directed, and deadline-driven.
- Ability to collaborate with volunteers who have varied technical abilities.
- Computer competence, including but not limited to: website maintenance, social media, Google Suite, Canva, Zoom, Data Management and email.
- Sensitivity to socio-economic and resource diversity among communities served.
- Proven ability to connect with local communities, including communities of color, school administrators and/or the local business community.
- Regular access to a reliable vehicle and ability to travel locally, primarily throughout Philadelphia and Bucks Counties, on a regular basis. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Daytime, evening, and weekend hours are required, according to scheduling demands. Availability to work core hours in late afternoon (3-6pm) during program season (September - December and March - June).
- Experience with non-profit program development, guided by organization budget, is preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus!

In addition, Girls on the Run Philadelphia offers a healthcare reimbursement account and IRA plan with employer match. We have a culture of self-determination, wherein given that expectations are met, there can be significant flexibility in scheduling of hours. We offer PTO commensurate with hours worked, and our office is closed at the end of December for a week.
