Position Description:
Reporting to the Vice Preside of Enterprise Manufacturing Operations, the Site Lead has responsibility to drive continuous and significant improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost by developing an excellent organization, and methodically & aggressively implementing a lean operating Culture This position works closely with Voyager BD and Segment Leaders , to understand fulfilment requirements for each Segment The Program Management relentlessly drives achievement of agreed-to deliverables and communicates status to internal customers.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a culture where safety, quality, productivity and cost are the main focal points with a continuous improvement mentality.
- Strategic planning for annual reviews to ensure that the business complies with all quality and safety standards as well as other legal requirements.
- Manges all aspects of Supply Chain including Procurement, Planning and Inventory management
- Drive rapid, significant and sustainable improvement in SQDC
- Provide the leadership necessary for the development and execution of a strategy that supports the development and sustainment of a Manufacturing Centre OF Excellence
- Lead regular KPI reviews for the COE to ensure attainment of results and a sense of urgency with respect to implementation priorities
- Passionately drive a lean operating system mentality and culture in a highly structured and prescriptive way leading the development and implementation of the roadmap to achieve best in class operating performance (Kaizen 5S, VSM, Visual Management Gemba, etc.)
- Provides leadership by promoting team concepts, coaching, counseling, retaining, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.
- Ensure key operational metrics and key performance indicator systems are consistently tracking the appropriate and actions are persuaded to close any gap in performance
- Periodically present plans and results
- Continually evolve operational efficiency and assess opportunities to reduce cost, taking action to drive financial performance in the areas of direct and indirect labor, and manufacturing overhead cost, as well as inventory levels
- Ensure effective allocation of resources across all areas of the COE to accomplish Segment Driven delivery goals
- Coordinate effectively with Segment Leaders, BD, Programs, Marketing, Design Engineering, and other functional organizations
- Partner with the broader Voyager management team to ensure the best possible product, and customer satisfaction
- Continually benchmark best practices and drive effective implementation.
- Help evaluate new opportunities for manufacturing business acquisition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing
- A minimum of 5 years of developing people and teams, believing it a critical component in driving organizational change and effectiveness.
- Business and cost accounting experience
- Demonstrated track record of significant performance improvement through the successful development of a lean culture, and implementation of the tools.
- Highly customer responsive and entrepreneurial
- Very resourceful, combining strong manufacturing and technical abilities with good overall management acumen
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
- Possesses a high sense of urgency
Preferences:
- Master’s degree in a related discipline
- Lean practitioner and/or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Experience with program management
