What is a "Co-Op"?Cooperative education is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A "Co-Op" provides academic credit for structured full-time job experience. To be eligible for a Co-Op position with CodeMettle, candidates must be currently enrolled in school and be able to commit to at least 2 semesters of full-time work with us.
You will work with us full-time for the entirety of your semester. Semesters worked do not need to be consecutive.As a Spring 2025 Associate Software Engineer Coop/Intern, you will work as an active participant on one of our engineering teams to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of various software products and systems for customers and internal stakeholders.An Associate Software Engineer is responsible for performing in a number of roles such as:
- Assisting Software Engineers with requirements gathering, designing, developing, installing, testing, and de-bugging of CodeMettle software
- Creating automation and scripts needed to communicate with various equipment types in broadcast, network and satellite industries
- Assisting software engineers with design and execution stress tests on a web architecture
- Assisting software engineers with evaluation of new web-based technologies
- Interfacing with customer to gather requirements and implement automation
- Assists software engineers with predefined development tasks
- Developing an understanding of software systems
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Familiarity with the Linux OS (Required)
- General computer knowledge including TCP/IP networking (Required)
- Familiarity with web-based man-machine interface standard practices is a plus
- Familiarity with Jython or other scripting languages is a plus
- Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus
