Head of Payments to join our team


Remotely or at our HQ Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will oversee and manage the organization's payment systems and processes. This role involves developing and executing strategies to optimize payment operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing the overall payment experience for customers. The ideal candidate will also have an engineering background in order to effectively handle the technical aspects of payment integration and optimization.

About the Role


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute payment strategies that align with our business goals and objectives as well as identify opportunities for technological innovation and process improvements in payment operations.
  • Leverage your engineering background to oversee the integration and management of payment processing systems within our tele-health platform. Ensure that payment systems are secure, efficient, and scalable.
  • Enhance the payment experience for our users by optimizing payment methods and addressing any technical issues. Implement user feedback to continually improve the payment process.
  • Oversee payment operations, including transaction processing, reconciliation, and fraud prevention, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Oversee payment-related technical projects, including system integrations, process enhancements, and new payment method implementations.
  • Ensure all payment operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Implement robust risk management practices to prevent fraud and maintain data security.
  • Engaged in managing and supporting our relationships with merchant vendors (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in payment systems, financial operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with Stripe, including in-depth knowledge of its APIs and payment solutions.
  • Experience in a tech, healthcare or tele-health environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in payment processing systems and payment technology integration.
  • Experience with APIs, payment gateways, and technical aspects of payment infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with security protocols and data protection regulations related to payments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead effective meetings with multiple stakeholders; exceptional cross-organization collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Experienced in project management and business operations best practices, proven ability to efficiently complete projects and initiatives on time and on target.
