501411 Aviation Software Engineer
Work Location: Huntsville, AL Schedule: Full TimeRelocation: NegotiableIronMountain Solutions, Inc. is seeking an Aviation Controls/Software Engineer to provide technical support to the Aviation Turbine Engine Project Office supporting the development of software and controls for the Improved Turbine Engine Product Office.
Job Duties:
- Serve as a System and Integration Engineer for the Improved Turbine Engine (ITE) Software and Controls Integrated Product Team (IPT) within the ATE Project Office.
- Serve ITEP Product Office as a subject matter expert responsible for providing technical support for Engine Controls, Engine Diagnostics and Prognostic Systems, and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Technologies.
- Manage ITEP technical aspects to success IAW technical, cost, and schedule requirements, and IAW PM ATE Technical Division best practices.
- Support ITE Software Development in accordance with the defined processes including knowledge of DO-178 and DO-254.
- Support ITE Black Hawk and Apache engine controls and health management development, qualification, and integration efforts with platform, avionics, and system engineering expertise. Activities include requirements development, traceability and verification activities, execution of design reviews and risk management.
- Provide input into development and documentation of ITEP technical and contract requirements.
- Serve ITEP Product Office as the engineer responsible for providing technical support for Sustainment, Diagnostics, Prognostics and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Technologies.
- Support ITE CBM efforts including implementation and continuous update of the ITE CBM Roadmap, defining engine and aircraft level system requirements.
- Support the development the ITEP Supportability IPT to ensure proper implementation and integration of the engine health management system.
- Conduct/review system-level trade studies and analyses to support development of requirements.
- Provide input into development and documentation of ITEP technical and contract requirements.
- Work with ITEP Product Office to assess program/project technical risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide senior-level support to the Assistant Product Managers, Tech Chief, and ITEP Leadership as required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Education and General Experience:
- Master of Science Degree in Engineering (Software, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace)
- Minimum of 8 years of System Engineering and Project/Program Management Leadership experience
- Experience in Aviation Software Development, Engine Controls, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), Prognostic Health Management practices and applications, Power Monitoring and Digital Source Collectors (DSC) technologies
- Knowledge of and experience with the development, airworthiness qualification, integration, system level qualification, reliability and maintainability, fielding, and sustainment.
