About the Role: 


We are seeking an exceptional Senior Engineering Manager to lead our innovative DocumentVerification team. As the leader of this product engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business impact, guiding technical direction, and fostering the growth of engineers. This role requires an empathetic leader with a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, broadengineering expertise, and a passion for mentoring and developing talent.

Responsibilities: 



  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage two to three engineering pods, comprising backend, frontend, and mobile engineers.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with globally distributed teams, including Product, Infrastructure, Engineering, and Data Science/Machine Learning, to conceptualize and develop new features and products in an agile environment.

  • Technical Direction:Drive the technical strategy, ensuring applications are built using best practices, modern technologies, and scalable architectures. You will influence and align the team on architecture and technical decisions.

  • Roadmap Planning:Collaborate with product and engineering leads to plan team roadmaps that align with business goals.

  • Mentorship and Growth:Guide and mentor junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and high performance within the team.

  • Code Quality:While hands-on coding is optional, you are expected to set high standards for code quality, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Key Results Ownership:Take ownership of delivering key results and high-impact outcomes for the Document Verification team, ensuring alignment with business objectives

Required Qualifications:



  • Experience:7+ years of experience in software development, demonstrating the ability to deliver complex, user-friendly solutions.

  • Leadership:3+ years of leadership experience as an IC leading teams of at least 5 engineers, or 2+ years as an engineering manager leading teams of 8 or more.

  • Full Stack Expertise:Proven experience in leading full stack teams, including backend, machine learning, web, and mobile engineering.

  • Technical Skills:Strong background in backend development, including cloud technologies to support ML-based applications, and client-side technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, native iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), and React Native.

  • Project Leadership:Demonstrated experience in driving large-scale projects involving full stack engineering teams and other technical teams, such as ML/DS, infrastructure, DevOps, and other product teams.

  • Influence and Alignment:Ability to influence, guide, and align the team on architecture and technical decisions.

  • Communication:Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex engineering and business problems across teams.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Cloud Services:Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), observability platforms (e.g., Datadog), and data platforms (e.g., Databricks).

  • Computer Vision & ML Models:Strong experience with computer vision and machine learning models, particularly in deploying and integrating these models into both backend services and client applications.

  • Performance Optimization:Proven ability to optimize the performance of applications and systems.

  • Leadership:A strong leadership track record, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and elevate the engineering team.
