Position Overview:
AGDATA is seeking a dynamic and driven Director of Sales to join our leadership team. In this role, you will lead our National, Key Accounts and Emerging Accounts Sales Teams across North America, reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer. Your focus will be to identify opportunities, collaborate with potential clients, and expand our range of products delivered to existing customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Business Development Representative (BDR) program to help drive opportunities.As the Director of Sales, you will lead efforts to identify and qualify new logos, build and expand client relationships, protect existing revenue streams, and capture new opportunities within North America's Crop and Animal Health & Welfare agricultural sectors through your Sales Team.
Equally important will be your role in coaching and developing the Sales Team, fostering a high-performance culture around prospecting, pipeline management, account-based selling, and product expansion for new logos and within our existing customer base. You'll also be expected to drive process improvements, helping shape a best-in-class sales force with a customer-centric approach.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive Sales Growth: Develop and execute annual sales plans to meet annual growth targets through scalable, repeatable solutions, with a focus on both new client acquisition and product expansion within existing accounts.
- Lead Account Strategy: Own the strategy for National, Key Accounts and Emerging Accounts, including prospecting, expanding our product offerings to existing customers, and ensuring revenue retention.
- Hit Sales Targets: Achieve assigned sales goals for both revenue and bookings growth.
- Build Relationships: Engage with key client contacts in the crop and animal health industries to understand their challenges, demonstrate the value of AGDATA’s solutions, and leverage internal client relationships to widen contact base.
- Sales Team Guidance and Development: Assess team and create individual development plans, focusing on relationship building, and sales disciplines such as prospecting, lead qualification, proposal creation & delivery, closing skills, and salesforce maintenance. Ensure alignment in client messaging partner with other Sales departments to enhance sales tools.
- Lead the BDR Program: Oversee and develop the Business Development Rep program to ensure a strong pipeline of new opportunities and long-term growth.
- Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with marketing and sales teams to create and execute innovative strategies that promote AGDATA’s products and services, and expand our offerings to existing customers.
- Provide Strategic Feedback: Share insights with the Chief Growth Officer on prospecting, value-based selling, and ways to optimize the sales process.
- Develop Sales Materials: Collaborate with Product Management and Sales Operations to produce sales content, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging.
- Drive Growth: Develop and execute strategic plans to meet annual growth targets through scalable, repeatable solutions, with a focus on both new client acquisition and product expansion within existing accounts.
- Plan Industry Events: Build the annual convention and meeting calendar for the sales team, ensuring attendance and reporting on ROI.
- Travel: Expect to travel 30-40% of the time to meet with clients and prospects.
What You Bring:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
- 7+ years of success in complex B2B solution sales, with significant experience working with business solutions decision makers within the agriculture industry.
- Proven experience and results in building and leading high-performing enterprise sales teams, with a strong sales culture.
- Experience in leading and developing a Business Development Rep (BDR) program is highly preferred.
