Who You Are
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Freelance or Intern Blog Writer to help with SEO optimization. This person will also add engaging, informative, and value-driven content to the What The Pup blog. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about dogs, pet health, and nutrition, who wants to develop their content creation skills in a fast-paced, fun environment.
Responsibilities:
- SEO Optimization & Backlinking: Implement basic SEO principles, such as using keywords, meta descriptions, and formatting to improve organic search rankings. The project will also mean scrubbing the What The Pup blog articles to ensure proper backlinks and UTMs are implemented.
- Proofreading & Editing: Review and refine content to ensure clarity, coherence, and error-free writing.
- Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with trends in pet health, nutrition, and dog-related content to help inform blog topics.
- Content Creation: Manage blog posts that resonate with pet parents, focusing on topics such as dog health, nutrition, behavior, and tips for pet care. Work closely with the marketing and content team to brainstorm and develop new content ideas and ensure all blog posts align with the Spot & Tango brand voice.
- Research: Conduct thorough research to ensure all blog posts are accurate, relevant, and supported by credible sources.
Qualifications:
- Passion for Dogs and Pet Nutrition: An understanding and enthusiasm for dogs, their health, and pet nutrition.
- Strong Writing Skills: Excellent written communication skills with the ability to create clear, engaging, and informative blog posts.
- Familiarity with SEO: Basic knowledge of SEO best practices in blog writing (keywords, meta descriptions, headings, etc.) and UTM tracking. Familiarity with WordPress is a plus.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: Capable of managing multiple writing tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
Self-Starter:
Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
