Role overview
Today we process billions of dollars in payments annually. In this role, you’ll be critical to helping us get to 100s of billions of dollars per year. This is a unique role that is highly cross-functional and will have an outsized impact on the bottom line. You’ll be optimizing our existing payment operations, and building out scalable systems and processes by leveraging product thinking and your data-crunching prowess. The ideal candidate will have exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for identifying process improvements. As the Senior Payments Analyst, you’ll also be a member of the Data and Analytics Team, and deeply embedded in Team Money, a cross-functional team charged with building and scaling our Payments Platform.
You’ll be working closely with our third-party banking and processing partners and collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and Finance to identify and mitigate risks, optimize payment workflows, and maintain compliance with industry regulations. Successful analysts in this role will earn their stripes by applying product thinking and have a sense of ownership of our Payments Platform and the tools and dashboards you create.
What you’ll be doing
Generate insights on trends in our payment data and platform performance.
Identify areas for optimization and work with stakeholders to prioritize and plan for improvement.
Collaborate with software engineers and product managers to implement and measure product enhancements.
Monitor and analyze payment transactions to identify discrepancies, errors, or potential fraud, and take appropriate action.
Conduct thorough investigations into payment-related issues, collaborating with internal teams to resolve discrepancies promptly.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation of payment processes, procedures, and workflows.
Perform reconciliations and audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
Build out reporting for the compliance checks to ensure our systems and processes are working as intended and in compliance with all local laws and regulations.
Assist in the development and execution of strategies to improve payment processing efficiency and reduce operational risks.
Support cross-functional projects and initiatives related to payment systems and operations.
Help ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance standards, staying updated on industry regulations and best practices.
What you have
5+ years of experience in payment operations or a similar role within the fintech, banking, or payments industry.
Proficiency in utilizing analytical tools and software for data analysis and reporting (e.g., SQL, Python).
Strong understanding of payment systems, including ACH, card networks, and emerging payment technologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or another analytical field.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, AML, and other relevant standards is a plus.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible.
