About the Role


In this pivotal role at Clutch, you will lead the charge in pioneering our entry into the commercial and business account opening and lending space. Your mission will be to drive the product development from the ground up, shaping not only the product itself but also its pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy. A key component of your success will be the creation of an Innovator Program, designed specifically for a select group of forward-thinking Credit Unions eager to be at the forefront of this initiative.

This program will serve as a critical platform for early adoption and feedback, helping to ensure our solution meets the market's needs with precision.

About the Team


At Clutch, we’re all about building strong, dynamic teams that drive our vision forward. We’re kicking things off by bringing on a dedicated Director of Product for this specific solution. This key role will work closely with our co-founder, laying the groundwork and setting the stage for our success.

What You’ll Do


Within 3 months, you will:


  • Visit and deeply understand clients to better prioritize their commercial/business needs and ambitions.

  • Create a vision of the many “jobs to be done” in commercial and small business lending, and develop a narrative for differentiated technological solutions.

  • Carefully outline a list of what’s required for launch products, and develop a deep sense of “what can be done later” from both a product and client perspective.

  • Identify ideal “launch partners” that overlap and align with “ideal launch products” to limit excessive scope, but preserve appropriate scale.

  • Identify and recruit additional team members who may be needed.

Within 6 months, you will:


  • Have 3-5 clients signed and committed to the Innovator’s Program to shape and launch the product

  • Have an 80% locked scope of features and functionality with a developed team roadmap for an initial version of the product that can launch in 6 months or less from the initial start

  • Have outlined clearly what will not be included in the launch through the use of prototypes, client reviews, and outside feedback.

Within 9 months, you will:


  • Work towards a launch and training plan for the Innovation program partners with set launch targets

  • Develop an early implementation plan for subsequently partners working jointly with implementation and customer success teams

  • Begin to frame commercial terms and pricing with sales and market terms for a pathway to sales in 12+ mo

What You’ll Bring



  • 5+ years in a prominent FinTech or banking startup preferably in B2B or lending setting

  • B2B experience in a heavily regulated industry (banking or financial services)

  • Previous experience in product implementation and onboarding for “implementation-heavy” products that require high degree of client cooperation.

  • Prominent Product ownership as a lead or 0-1 product manager

  • Experience working with engineering and commercial teams in setting go-to-market and implementation strategies.

  • Ability to recruit, retain, and motivate other high-caliber individuals
