The Opportunity
At Clutch, our Data team is at the heart of our data-driven decision-making, responsible for empowering the organization with insights, analytics, and advanced data solutions.As the Director of Data, you'll be instrumental in shaping our data strategy and leading a high-performing team toward our organizational objectives. You'll have the opportunity to build this new team from the ground up, leveraging existing talent and strategic hires. Expect to be hands-on in the initial stages as we establish this team.
You'll be responsible for:
Building and leading a new team of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists to deliver high-quality data solutions.
Driving the vision and strategy for Clutch’s data platform, ensuring it supports our analytical and data science needs.
Implementing best practices for data management, including data governance, quality, and security.
Managing resource allocation, project timelines, and team capacity to meet organizational objectives.
Effectively communicating data concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborating with engineering leadership, product managers, and stakeholders to prioritize projects and align team efforts with company goals.
Recruiting, developing, and retaining top data talent, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Skillset you will bring:
Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment.
Strong background in data engineering, data analytics, and data science.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing data teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning.
It will be nice if you have:
Previous experience leading the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of a data platform from initial concept to production readiness.
Experience with our tech stack: Databricks, Python, PostgreSQL and AWS.
Previous experience in a B2B SaaS startup or fintech environment.
