Basic Function
The SB Energy Finance team is seeking a FP&A Financial Analyst with 3+ years’ experience in financial modeling, preparing and coordinating forecasts/budgets, and producing timely, accurate reporting to keep management and stakeholders apprised of business performance against plan. The FP&A Financial Analyst supports coordination of various portions of the Company’s budgeting and forecast processes by working with teammates and stakeholders to obtain, analyze, and model information and assumptions. Under the direction of the Senior Director of FP&A, the position will play a key role in the Company’s monthly reporting process. Sound judgment, ingenuity, excellent problem solving, organizational skills and a proactive attitude will position the successful candidate to earn a rewarding opportunity with our fast-growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Support preparation of the Company’s annual budget and monthly forecast process, including owning sections as assigned.
- Support project level and portfolio forecast projections for development projects and activities.
- Act as the financial contact for assigned projects and proactively manage relevant reporting requirements for those projects for FP&A and Development teams as well as broader distributions.
- Track actuals, investigate, explain, and present budget to actual variances.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing various items in the Company’s monthly reporting packages.
- Coordinate and prepare various presentations as assigned.
- Drive efficiency and value-added analysis as it relates to assigned projects.
- Support periodic and ad-hoc initiatives including market research, peer comparisons, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s in Engineering, Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred but not required.
- Above all a positive attitude, demonstrated work ethic and passion for learning.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar corporate FP&A or project management role preparing and coordinating budgets, modeling, forecasts, and related reporting.
- Experience with ERP’s and planning tools; NetSuite, Hyperion, Unifier, Vena, or similar.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including experience with financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
- Renewable energy experience strongly preferred, including Greenfield and Real Estate Development.
- Experience preparing and reviewing models in Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to understand issues with a “big-picture” perspective.
- Independent thinker able to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Proven ability to produce high quality work under deadlines.

Greater San Diego area.
Base Pay - $80,000 - 115,000Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, certifications, specific work location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Base pay may vary per location due to differences in the cost of living.The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual discretionary bonus, full Health & Wellness Benefits package, and other applicable incentive perks as outlined in any formal offer made.
The final compensation package will be discussed with the candidate during the final stages of the hiring process.
