The Opportunity


At Clutch, our team is responsible for At Clutch, our Engineering team is responsible for developing and maintaining our cutting-edge lending and account opening products. Your challenge will be to lead the teams responsible for one of these products, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that empower credit unions to better serve their members. As a Director of Software Engineering, you will oversee multiple engineering teams dedicated to a specific product, drive technical excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

You'll be responsible for:



  • Leading and mentoring multiple software engineering teams to deliver high-quality products on time.

  • Collaborating with product management, design, customer success, and implementation teams to define and prioritize technical initiatives.

  • Driving the technical vision and strategy for Clutch’s product, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Overseeing the architecture and design of scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.

  • Implementing best practices for software development, including agile methodologies, testing, code reviews, and continuous delivery.

  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.

  • Managing resource allocation, project timelines, and team capacity to meet organizational objectives.

Skills you will bring:



  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment.

  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and cloud technologies.

  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies and practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • A passion for innovation and staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
