Senior Manager, Internal Platforms
As the Senior Manager of Internal Platforms at Khoros, you will play the critical role of architecting, developing and owning our Internal Platforms, including our Signals tool and its application ecosystem including a data pipeline which provides critical product usage and customer health data to our customer facing teams. Other systems include customer-facing implementations of our products that have a development component as well. You will manage a team of developers and act as lead developer, working closely with functional leaders and subject matter experts to identify business requirements, lead development, and provide support for the tools you build.
Strong people management, systems strategy, and programmatic development skills are critical.
Job Description:
- System Architecture & Integrations:
- Own the system architecture for our Signals tool and drive the roadmap for new releases.
- Maintain an existing data pipeline that serves as first party data for two-thirds of our platforms.
- Provide ad-hoc data reports when requested from stakeholders so they might make business critical decisions.
- Design best practices and guidelines for platform stability and expansion.
- Assess the impact of new requirements on integrations to customer-facing systems.
- Define technical standards and data specification required by the business to stakeholders in engineering, driving complex data improvement projects to completion.
- Provide direction and technical management for the planning, design, implementation, integration, and operation of key internally developed systems.
- System Administration and Development:
- Respond to business requirements and implement solutions as they become available.
- Manage the schedule and plan for new releases, backups, and feature enablement.
- Maintain complex data relationships across SaaS and backend systems. Centralize and synchronize all data to a cloud data warehouse for advanced analytics and tools.
- Support business systems and business intelligence teams with custom development needs or technical consultations.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with operational stakeholders to develop detailed business requirements, including use cases, and risk mitigation to drive the Signals strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
- Lead or oversee project delivery on an approved roadmap.
- Work with the DevOps team to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as protected assets.
- Team Management:
- Directly manage and mentor a team of developers.
- Directly manage or provide input to the management of systems that connect to internal platforms.
- Provide helpful code reviews for the team as they grow in their careers as technical contributors to large projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on experience as a software or data engineer
- 4+ years managing a software team
- Hands on experience with building data models and solutions including reporting, metrics, dashboards and data visualization
- Experience with POSIX operating systems
- Programming languages: JavaScript (ES6), Java 8, Python
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in data modeling and reporting
- Proficiency with cloud providers (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple project assignments while under pressure
- Self-starter, able to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience leading a SCRUM team with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of other company personnel, including technical personnel from other disciplines, IT Management, business users and leadership, outside vendors and consultants
