Position Summary
The role of SME will enable a qualified candidate to manage technical skill areas across all lines of business for our customers. In managing these technical areas, the SME will provide guidance for existing staff in the Centre Assist and ITC departments. The objective is to help develop best practices and standards, onboarding/offboarding processes, developing toolsets, optimizing customer environments and providing issue escalation for Centre Assist. The O365/IAM SME will be focusing on all aspects of Microsoft Office 365 from deployment, partnership enablement and integration into Identity and Access Management systems such as Microsoft Entra and Active Directory. The O365/IAM SME will leverage those related technology areas to help and service Centre customers and Centre solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be technical owner of all aspects of Microsoft Office 365 (O365) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems such as Microsoft Entra and Microsoft Active Directory (AD).
- Maintain a pulse on industry standards and changes to keep Centre solutions relevant
- Drive best practices and industry standards into Centre process and customer environments
- Collaborate with all Centre lines of business to ensure compliance and direction for standards
- Comply with all Centre process and maintain Centre’s successful posture for SOC2 Type II compliance
- Must possess both the technical and leadership skills to work with Executive level personnel
- Solve customer issues by leveraging Problem Management and resolution of issues in a timely manner
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent troubleshooting and written/verbal communication skills to communicate progress and status of activities to customer Executives and points of contact.
- Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
- The ability to communicate and explain technology to non-technical individuals
- Strong IT documentation skills
Education/Experience/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience
- Certifications – MS-900 Microsoft O365 Fundamentals or equivalent [required], MS-102 Microsoft 365 Administrator [preferred], AZ-500 Microsoft Azure Security Technologies [preferred], AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure AZ-305 Designing Microsoft Infrastructure Solutions
- Microsoft Office 365 knowledge of architecture, deployment, administration and partner incentive enablement
- Identity and Access Management integration and deployment experience required
- Microsoft Entra working knowledge, troubleshooting and integration required
- Microsoft Active Directory on-premise and integration with tools like AD sync is required
- Other Microsoft technologies such as Teams and Azure (Architect, Implementations, Migrations) is a plus
- Advanced experience with troubleshooting and maintaining Windows 10/11
- Advanced experience with troubleshooting and maintaining Windows Server 2016/2019/2022+
- Microsoft Windows Administration tools (AD Users and Computers, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, Sites and Services, etc.) is required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V
- Working knowledge of VMware ESXi Server
- Systems upgrades including security patch management
- Understanding of network infrastructures and troubleshooting various networking protocols including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Experience with various Enterprise level server hardware such as but not limited to Dell and HPE
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- Working from office environment in a hybrid workforce schedule
- Occasional lifting (up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds) may be required.
