Who You Are:


Supergoop! is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Staff Accountant to support the daily operations of maintaining complete and accurate financial records. This position offers excellent exposure to a range of work areas, including general ledger transactions, month end close, accounting operations, and cross functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and has a proactive attitude and strong work ethic. This is a full-time position that is on a hybrid office model based in New York, and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities: 


  • General Ledger: Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, including ownership over Cash, Prepaid Expenses, and Fixed Asset accounts
  • Operating Expenses: Process and record Operating Expense transactions, including Payroll Expenses, Travel & Entertainment Expenses, and Depreciation and Amortization Expense
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely recording of transactions
  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and assisting in monthly variance analysis resolution
  • Audit Support: Provide documentation and support for external audits
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data processing

Qualifications/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Netsuite) and Excel
  • Understanding of US GAAP
  • Ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively share progress and seek guidance when necessary
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve; actively seeks ways to improve processes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • CPA or working towards a CPA is a plus

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience
