ABOUT YOU
As Creative Director, you’ll be responsible for the artistic direction and execution of all Literati creative and brand assets, as well as managing our team of in-house creatives and freelancers. You will shape creative campaigns that resonate with children, parents and educators across both consumer and educational products. You’ll be a brand champion, bringing love, artistry, organization, professionalism, work ethic, and speed to our creative process. You’ll be working cross-functionally with internal clients (i.e.
sales, product, marketing) and external clients (schools, non-profits, partnerships) on delivering assets that meet and exceed the brand standard. You’ll be streamlining processes and procedures, knowing how to build creative teams that scale. You are someone whom creative professionals respect and admire, who can deliver feedback and raise the bar while maintaining kindness because you’ve been in their shoes. You can roll up your sleeves and help finish a project to meet a deadline.
REQUIREMENTS
10+ years experience in creative work (i.e. visual design, art direction, copywriting, creative direction, animation, film, production) for companies and/or agencies
Excellent creative conceptualization and ideation, as well as the ability to communicate creative vision to stakeholders and partners
Experience with both paid (i.e. direct response) and brand marketing campaigns
Strong management background in creative fields, having worked with and managed a variety of creative professionals (i.e. designers, copywriters, producers) in teams of 10+
Experience managing creative budgets and hiring freelancers
World-class portfolio of creative work across a wide range of brands, campaigns, and disciplines
The ability to effectively balance, prioritize, and make trade-offs centered around business objectives and brand goals
WE’D LOVE TO SEE
Strong individual expertise and IC work ethic in a specific creative discipline (i.e. copy, visual design, animation, video production)
Experience with direction of photo/video productions
Strong network of creative professionals and freelancers in Austin
Consumer and/or Education brand work and experience (i.e. not purely B2B)
Literary or Artistic inclinations
Agency experience
Experience with deep branding work across a range of brands
Event production experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the creative and execution of all brand assets, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Provide artistic direction and ideation on creative projects
Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders on creative campaigns that drive brand awareness and meet revenue goals
Manage a team of in-house creative professionals and freelancers including designers, copywriters, and producers to support Literati D2C and educational products
Streamline and develop creative processes at scale
Collaborate with Founder/CEO and VP of Marketing to help refine and set creative direction for the company, shaping Literati’s brand for the next decade
Manage creative budgets and figure out how to get scrappy (we use in-house teams and freelancers, not external agencies)

The salary band for this role will be between $175,000 - $200,000. This position is classified as exempt and is not eligible for overtime pay.
