A Demand Planner will play a key role in forecasting and managing product demand to ensure that supply meets customer needs efficiently.
About the job:
- Demand Forecasting: Analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and other factors to predict future product demand. This involves using statistical methods and forecasting tools, including MAE, MAD, MAPE, forecast error, etc.
- Inventory Management: Collaborating with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure that stock levels are appropriate to meet forecasted demand without overstocking or stockouts.
- Data Analysis: Monitoring and analyzing sales data, market conditions, and customer behavior to refine forecasts and improve accuracy.
- Collaboration: Working with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to gather insights and align forecasts with business strategies and promotional plans.
- Reporting: Creating and presenting reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and other key metrics to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations based on the data.
- Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for improving demand planning processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- System Management: Utilizing demand planning software and tools (like ERP systems or specialized forecasting tools) to support forecasting and inventory management activities.
- Risk Management: Assessing risks related to supply chain disruptions, market changes, and other factors that could impact demand, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to present data findings to management and other stakeholders. Develop visually appealing and informative presentations to communicate data insights.
- Data Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy and consistency in visualizations by validating data sources and outputs. Address and resolve any data discrepancies or visualization issues.
About You:
General
- Regulations require that incumbent be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain medical marijuana work credentials – applicable marijuana licensing regulations may disqualify individuals with certain criminal convictions.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or analytics/statistics, preferred
- At least 5+ years of experience in demand planning
- Cannabis industry experience is strongly preferred

- Professional demeanor, strong work ethic
- Must have exceptional problem-solving and project management skills
