Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in construction management (CM), construction-related technology, space planning, and facilities management, seeks Traveling Electrical Commissioning Agent to provide support for government, military, K-12, higher education, commercial, and other facilities projects. The work involves acting as an Owner’s representative from early design through construction and warranty phase of a project. All candidates must meet the following skills and qualifications:
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to work and travel throughout the continental U.S.
- CxA Certification and Niagara 4 software certified preferred.
- Commercial electrical systems experience (high and medium voltage)– both design and field work.
- PE license.
- 10+ years of experience in building controls (BAS, SCADA) is required.
- Four-year engineering degree.
- Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC).
- Applicants must have the desire and ability to learn about building systems, maximizing building performance, and must be up to the challenge of leading a team of owners, designers, and contractors to find and fix issues from the beginning of design through construction.
- US citizenship is required.
- Willing and able to travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities & Duties
- When not onsite the candidate will be able to work from home.
- Conducive to participating in, and leading meetings consistent with their position as a professional services provider.
- Lead commissioning meetings (design, construction, controls coordination) and issue minutes.
- Create customized Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Tests.
- Conduct site observation visits, witness systems startups, and issues field reports.
- Document, track, and facilitate resolution of commissioning issues.
- Review equipment startup and testing reports
- Coordinate execution of, and review construction (pre-functional) checklists
- Coordinate, direct, and document Functional Performance Tests.
- Work with O&M personnel to help them understand the systems and equipment that are being commissioned and how the equipment is designed to operate as a system.
