Job Description
What You’ll Do
As a non-exempt/hourly employee at Burwood, the Sr. Hybrid Infrastructure Consultant will work alongside Field Service Technicians and coordinate with our Lead Field Services Technicians to provide on-site support for our clients, ensuring seamless implementation and configuration of network infrastructure. This role requires strong project leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to support on-site teams effectively.In this role, the Sr. Hybrid Infrastructure Consultant will have the following responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
- Lead complex technical projects, coordinating with both on-site technicians and remote teams
- Organize and communicate project plans, updates, and issues effectively
- Function as central point of contact to communicate updates and progress to key stakeholders
K
ey Technical Skills:
- Develop plans for migration of on-prem applications of various types to new virtual environments
- Server to Server/Server to Platform legacy application migration
- Physical to Virtual Migration experience, brownfield deployments, technology transformation
- Assist with setup and configuration of on-prem & cloud environments, remote access, and cloud integration services with oversight from the Hybrid Infrastructure and Cloud Solutions teams
- Manage virtualized server hosts; ESXi experience preferred
- Assist with setup and configuration of virtualized servers, remote desktop services, centralized DHCP, and AD management with oversight from Hybrid Infrastructure team
Documentation and Post-Implementation Testing:
- Reconfigure and test workstations, servers, and peripherals.
- Perform functional and validation testing of all reconfigured devices
Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Tier 2/3 level help desk support during HyperCare (post-cutover support)
- Perform technical troubleshooting and remote support using tools like Kaseya
General Requirements:
- Flexible working hours, including nights and weekends
- Travel requirements: nice to have not required for this role
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Aruba) is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
Who You Are
- You have proven experience in leading complex technical projects
- You have strong organizational and communication skills
- You have expertise in configuring and managing network equipment, with a focus on Cisco Meraki and Azure VNETs
- You can quickly adapt to unique hardware challenges
- You are detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- You are comfortable interacting and presenting in front of customers
- You are able to build strong relationships and mentor colleagues
- You are able to manage your travel plans independently (hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.)
- You are willing to frequently work nights and weekends to facilitate site cutovers
- You are flexible to support short notice schedule changes and scheduling complexities
The Tech Stuff
- Manage virtualized server hosts; VMware vSphere experience preferred
- Experience with some or all these technologies are a plus: Azure Virtual Machines, Azure networking, Azure Migrate, hybrid environments, Windows server and Azure Virtual Desktops.
Cloud Network and Security:
- An understanding of how Azure Networking, VNETs, VPN Gateways work is a plus
System Setup and Support:
- Collaborate with the Hybrid Infrastructure/Cloud Infrastructure teams for cloud-based configurations, including Azure setups
- Provide Tier 2/3 level support for cloud infrastructure during HyperCare phases
