GENERAL SUMMARY: VP of Sales, Consulting, West


The VP of Sales, West, is one of the top sales leaders of the organization. Reporting to the CSO, this leader will manage, oversee and drive the sales operations for the West Region of the organization. You will be responsible for collaborating with other leaders and departments to design plans to meet sales quotas, maintain, develop and cultivate relationships with clients, and evaluate and oversee pricing when selling to customers. You will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, developing and implementing effective sales strategies, and fostering strong team cohesion through coaching, training, and mentorship.

You will spend significant time coaching and troubleshooting with your direct reports to show them the right way to move the prospect through the sales funnel. The VP of Sales, West, is responsible for drafting sales reports, meeting sales targets and estimating sales timelines and profits for our solutions.  

Sales Leadership, Coaching, and Training:


  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and guidance to the sales team to enhance their skills and performance. 
  • Champion new evolutions in sales methodology that achieve client value propositions and vision/mission objectives of the company. 
  • Lead by example through active participation in sales activities and setting a high standard of excellence. 
  • Develop and implement coaching programs to improve individual and team performance.  
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to provide feedback and support professional development. 
  • Evaluate, implement, and execute/monitor automation initiatives to streamline sales processes.  
  • Establish and develop cross-functional department relationships, e.g. Operations, Marketing, Administration. 

Sales Results:


  • Guide your team to actively prospect, qualify, and close sales opportunities to meet personal and team targets. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers. 
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to effectively communicate the value proposition. 
  • Support the negotiations of contracts and pricing agreements with customers to secure profitable deals. 
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute effective lead generation campaigns. 

Reporting and Analysis:


  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts to track progress against targets. 
  • Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for improvement. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to drive informed decision-making. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 8+ years of experience in a sales leadership role. 
  • Proven experience selling and leading others in facilities consulting industry, with thorough understanding of how to close large deals. 
  • Strong leadership skills with a coaching mindset and the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities. 
  • Proficiency in Salesforce software and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, quota achievement and business growth 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). 
  • Sales or sales management experience in some combination of facility asset management, energy efficiency solutions, sustainability consulting. 
  • Data and metrics orientation and experience working with major CRM systems.
