Full-timeDescriptionYou will be a key member of our supporting the various activities related to database administration tasks. You will need to have experience working with Oracle, MySQL, and other relational database technologies. Your experience should include strong backup and recovery processes and technologies using SQL/Oracle tools and experience migrating and supporting databases in AWS RDS and Cloud environments. Ability to work well independently as well as within a team environment. Please note this is a full-time remote position with onsite meetings.
Summary of Major Job Functions
Accountable for the support and maintenance of databases within our Enterprise applications and the development of Oracle or MySQL stored procedures, triggers, etc.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops/improves database standards to provide optimum maintenance and consistency across applications
- Research technical problems, analyze business requirements, evaluate alternative design approaches, and design technical processes to meet business requirements
- Participates in project and team meetings - interacting and collaborating with team members, other development teams, and stakeholders as needed
- Estimate and document required work effort to develop, test, and implement new technical processes/changes
- Create and edit technical documentation of implementation activities
- Provides technical support and mentoring to other team members in order to foster professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree - preferable in Computer Science, Electrical/Software Engineering or Math/Physics (Computer Sc. stream) or equivalent experience
- At least five (5+) years of experience performing database administration tasks for MSSQL Server, Oracle, and/or other similar technology
- Experience Documenting database schemas
- Experience troubleshooting SQL code and design
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with web-based client applications and enterprise deployment strategies
- Oracle
- MySQL
- AWS
- Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements
- Experience in Agile methodology
- Development using PL/SQL including store procedures, packages, and external scripting
- Experience working with clients or in a team- based environment and working under pressure/time constraints

- The salary for this position is $65,000 - $100,000 annually
