Our medication management programs and processes are proven to improve outcomes while reducing overall healthcare costs for our patients.Curant Health is searching for a Shipping & Receiving /Pharmacy Technician to join its team in Smyrna, GA. This position is responsible for managing the prescription shipping process within the pharmacy and executing the prescription fill process from within the pharmacy.

Responsibilities


With your passion to help patients, your drive to make an impact on those you care for, and your commitment to customer service, you will serve as the primary link between our patients, physicians and pharmacy. We have listed a few or your responsibilities below:Responsible for the shipping functions of the pharmacy:

  • Generate shipping labels, preps and packs boxes for shipment, input shipping information into shipping system, select vendor, track and capture delivery of records and accurately transfer this data into an internal database.
  • Using computer skills, navigate the internet and internal systems, including Word, Outlook and Excel programs, to effectively provide customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Generate reports using shipping vendor and internal software to maintain accurate reporting of deliveries.
  • Ensures tracking of all shipments to destination.
  • Processes all returns and works with shipping vendors to re-route shipments as necessary.
  • Receive inventory and assist with stocking shelves in the pharmacy

Working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician may perform the following delegable tasks:

  • Accurately fills prescriptions by:
  • Retrieving prescription orders; counting, weighing, measuring, and pouring of prescription medication or stock legend drugs and controlled substances, including the filling of an automated medication system;
  • Selecting, filling, and labeling prescription containers; and operating scanning equipment and/or automated dispensing systems to ensure prescription accuracy.
  • Assist with inventory management by:
  • Performing the tasks of receiving wholesale orders – Checks in, corrects and returns daily drug orders while ensuring proper storage.
  • Performing the task of ordering drug stock from verified wholesalers necessary to fill pending orders.
  • Participation in a monitoring program to remove deteriorated pharmaceuticals to a quarantine area.
  • Process prescriptions and package medications appropriately using adherence packaging.
  • Assist with performing duties at Point of Sale (POS)
  • General administrative support as assigned by manager.

Consistently aids in providing a superior patient experience by communicating clearly and effectively both in person and on the phone to a variety of audiences including Patient Care Coordinators Intake Coordinators, pharmacists and staff.

Qualifications


  • Must be currently registered in the state of Georgia as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to transcribe information and data accurately.
  • 2 years relevant work experience in a pharmacy preferred.
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy environment preferred.
