Sr. Power Builder Developer

Coho Technology Solutions is seeking a ROSCO PowerBuilder Senior will deliver programming services to develop application processing logic, either within the user interface or through separate modules known as custom class user objects, for the U.S. Census Bureau. This position is initially fully remote but may require 1-2 days per week onsite as needed.

Responsibilities


(include but are not limited to)

  • Provide technical expertise and advice to client staff and management.
  • Assist the PM and BA in the preparation of documentation to describe new or changed processes.
  • Respond to information requests that business users submit through Automated Help Desk Application.
  • Assist in research and recommendations on existing and new technologies.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of disaster recovery plans for various systems.
  • Create upgrade and migration schedules with plans that will minimize the impact on production and mission critical systems.
  • Provide system enhancements and modifications to include training packages for user training.
  • Designing User Interface (GUI) using object-oriented analysis and design and visual and non-visual user objects for system wide use.
  • Attend organizational meetings as directed.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Experience generating and working with complex queries for reporting, analyzing data, and identifying issues to develop solutions.
  • Evaluate, design, and code approved application change requests (CRs).
  • Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Perform integration testing, unit testing of any code and configuration changes prior to releasing for User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Maintain configuration and version control using approved client-server
  • Assist in the development of application maintenance plans for scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Recommend and assist in the development and implementation of maintenance plans for system upgrades and technology refreshes.

Requirements:


  • Clearance:
  • Public Trust from Census Investigative Services (CIS)
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Government Background Investigation (obtain Moderate Public Trust) PRIOR to starting work

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Technology, or a related field of study

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years of PowerBuilder experience in developing Versions PB 2017 R3 – PB2021
  • 2+ years of PowerGen Professional for the creation of ROSCO test and production builds
  • 2+ years of experience with GitHub Enterprise Server 3.##
  • 5+ years of Oracle backend experience (Oracle 12c, Oracle 19c)
  • Experience with Oracle SQL Developer
  • Experience with TortoiseGit
  • Experience with GitHub Desktop, Git Bash, Git Gui
  • Prior experience using Ticket Resolution systems, Enterprise SBM, and/ or Remedy
  • Demonstrated experience working in an SDLC environment
  • Must have experience in system support, maintenance, management and problem resolution skills.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging applications to ensure optimal performance and quality.
  • Software development consulting experience within Federal agencies
  • Have strong communications both orally and written
  • Excellent client relationship, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, remaining flexible and being a great team player
