Position Summary
Supervise, support and lead property accountants on day-to-day and monthly close deadlines, including Production, Revenue, JIB, and reconciliations. Provide support to Management to ensure proper and timely completion of operational accounting close functions and assigned projects.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Property Accounting Manager. Direct reports to the Senior Property Accountant include 2- 3 Property Accountants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise monthly close process for assigned assets
- Review allocations and calculations, especially revenue
- Ensure that all journals are appropriately supported and reviewed
- Performs general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including but not limited to accruals, prepaid expenses revenue, production and JIB accounting
- Review account reconciliations and formulate deadlines for cleanup
- Execute special projects requests from management and operations teams
- Coordinate external audit requests
- Provide adequate review, direction and supervision of staff, and substitute others in the team when needed
- Additional oil and gas operational accounting duties
Education and Preferred Experience Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting required
- 2-3 years direct Oil & Gas revenue experience is required
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience in Oil & Gas is required, revenue supervision is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Major ERP system experience is preferred; SAP experience is beneficial
