Position Summary
Supervise, support, and lead the property accounting group on day-to-day and monthly close deadlines, including GL close, revenue close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other analytical procedures. The Property Accounting Manager is also responsible for general accounts analysis, production, and JIB accounting.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Division Controller and indirectly to the Crescent Controller
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise monthly close process for assigned assets
- Revenue and JIB allocations and calculations, especially revenue
- Review and post monthly journal entries
- Prepare and review monthly revenue, expense, and capex accruals
- Ensure that all journals are appropriately completed, supported, and reviewed
- Review reconciled balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Review accounts analysis and reconciliations, including but not limited to accruals, prepaid expenses, revenue, production, and JIB accounting
- Review sales and use tax filings
- Coordinate internal and external audit requests
- Provide adequate review, direction and supervision of staff, and substitute others in the team when needed
- Additional oil and gas operational accounting duties
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting is required
- 2-3 years of public accounting or oil and gas experience is preferred
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience is required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Major ERP system experience is preferred; SAP experience is beneficial
