Mission Advancement Coordinator Location: Philadelphia (Chestnut Hill) – Hybrid Reports To: Executive Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Full Time, 35-40 hours per weekCompensation: $20-25 / hour, commensurate with experienceCOUNCIL INTRO: Girls on the Run Philadelphia (GOTRP) is a local nonprofit organization that operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International (GOTRI). We are dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Our program currently serves Philadelphia and Bucks Counties.
We have served over 7,500 girls at over 140 sites across our region since 2013. GOTRP is committed to ensuring every girl in our community can participate in our life-changing program by providing subsidized registration fees for over 75% of our participants annually.Girls on the Run believes that all girls and communities should have access to our programs. We strive to eliminate barriers to participation, create programming that engages all communities, be intentional about staff and volunteer diversity and promote a culture of inclusion across the organization.POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to and partnering closely with the Executive Director, the Mission Advancement Coordinator is responsible for supporting Girls on the Run Philadelphia throughout our geographic footprint by supporting program and 5K logistics, development initiatives, volunteer recruitment, and marketing projects that promote the operation and expansion of the council.The Mission Advancement Coordinator must possess a passion for and commitment to the mission and vision of Girls on the Run, improving the lives and opportunities of girls in third through eighth grades and must have the ability to effectively and persuasively communicate the core values and impact of the GOTR program with confidence.
This individual must be creative, highly detail oriented and able to manage multiple, competing priorities, while providing an exceptional level of service to corporate and volunteer stakeholders and working collaboratively as a key member of a small, dedicated team.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:This job description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Operations
- Manage Google Workspace for staff and board members
- Update council website content
- Act as a system administrator for learning management system
- Assist with packing and distribution of materials for program, 5K, and other events
- Conduct intake and triage of general volunteer inquiries
- Administrative support of Chair and Vice Chair of Executive Board, including preparation of board meeting pre-read and meeting materials
- Liaise with and support Associate Board as the staff representative
Marketing
- Develop strategies for social media content, campaigns, and engagement
- Create engaging graphics and content for use across social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok)
- Evaluate social media metrics and share with stakeholders
- Develop e-newsletter campaign that aligns with social media strategy, annual council milestones, and recruitment needs
- Use email marketing platform to create and distribute e-newsletters to subscribers
- Utilize social platforms to expand network of partners (schools, aligned non-profits, sponsors)
Development
- Manage the administration of peer-to-peer fundraising
- Co-lead annual signature fundraising event planning/production
- Maintain donor database and manage acknowledgement efforts
- Act as GOTR representative at community events to raise awareness, recruit volunteers, and solicit funds
- Research and initiate fund development opportunities (i.e. charity fitness events, dine for a cause, etc.)
Program
- Support the planning and facilitation of coach training twice annually
- Assist with program material organization and management
- Conduct seasonal visits to program sites to ensure effective program delivery
- Serve as GOTR coach at one program site each season
- Support 5K event preparation and event logistics
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Availability to work core hours in late afternoon (3-6pm) during program season (September-December and March-June)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport program materials throughout council territory as needed
- Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Proven project management and organizational skills, with an ability to juggle competing priorities
- Adaptability to quickly learn new systems and technology
- Self-sufficient, ability to self-manage time and tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in various environments with diverse audiences
- Proactive, positive, can-do attitude
- Believe in the mission of Girls on the Run and a passion about issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, and wellness
- Commitment to GOTR International’s goals and strategic imperatives related to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Regular access to vehicle/ability to drive throughout council territory (Philadelphia and Bucks Counties)
- Managing staff or volunteers
- Experience with GOTR or other similar non-profit youth community programs
- Using database tools for record management and reporting
- Managing social media content creation and strategy
- Connections to the local community, including communities of color, school administrators, and the local business community
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets)

This role will involve working in: Calendly, Canva, Cornerstone LMS, Google Workspace, Hootsuite, Trello, and Zoom.Compensation & BenefitsThis is a full-time role that is classified as non-exempt and offers an hourly compensation range of $20-25 per hour, commensurate with experience. In addition, Girls on the Run Philadelphia offers a healthcare reimbursement account (HRA) and IRA plan with employer match.
We have a culture of self-determination, wherein given that expectations are met, there can be significant flexibility in scheduling of hours. We offer PTO commensurate with hours worked, and our office is closed at the end of December for a week.
