Eligibility Requirements


  • Our internship program is remote based; however, the intern must be in the United States.
  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited college or university during the internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (based on a 4.0 scale)
  • Available to work full time (40 hours/week) for the entire program (June 9th - August 29th).
  • Required to undergo a pre-employment background check.

Working closely with the department, the Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:


  • Explore, learn, and support Somos’ product portfolio
  • Provide support for our product portfolio process improvements
  • Learn how to curate the best ideas, hypothesize their value, and implement the most promising of them
  • Build basic databases and code to maintain, create and retrieve information from databases
  • Use statistical methods to analyze data, identify and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets
  • Apply data science knowledge to identify patterns in data sets
  • Create or improve existing prediction models
  • Analyze existing data sets, discover patterns & answer questions relevant to Somos’ product portfolio
  • Maintenance of lead lists and run reports
  • Reviewing of product data to ensure company is kept up to date on new developments regarding competition
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish consensus around technology gaps, future architectural solutions, define high-level and detailed requirements
  • Collaborate with customer engagement on outreach campaigns, webinars, and other customer events, and drive product launches
  • Design complex financial and algorithmic models

Major Initiatives


  • Participate in overall strategic product discussions for current and future products
  • Assist team with performing database programs and processes
  • Routinely expose yourself to customer feedback to anticipate needs and improve customer experiences
  • Intern capstone project

Qualifications & Skills


  • Must be enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program or graduate student
  • Proficiency with SQL skills and Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Excel and Access
  • Willingness to assist in variety of product related tasks
  • Ability to act as customer advocate in cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects
  • Team oriented attitude that no job is too big or too small
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter with ability to deliver results
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Proven proactiveness in large group presentations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a small, fast-paced environment
  • Passion for consumer empowering technology
  • In depth knowledge of “go to market” strategies

Preferred Qualifications & Skills 


  • Working toward a degree in product, marketing, data analytics, business management or computer engineering.

  • Knowledge of global products, product life cycles, and understanding the needs of customers
  • Exposure to Design Thinking
  • Knowledge or exposure to the telecommunications industry.
  • Knowledge and experience working in the following application tools: Jira, Version One, Mural, Figma, and Tableau preferred
