GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Communications Specialist is an integral part of CRSP’s Communications team. The Communications Specialist’s primary responsibilities are using analytics to evaluate trends of CRSP’s communications channels (website, LinkedIn, email campaigns, intranet) and propose innovative content ideas that continue to drive stronger engagement; as well as having primary responsibility for preparing monthly release notes, subscriber and prospect email campaigns, and HR Communications, with content provided by subject matter experts. This role will provide backup to other Communications team members in all areas and is also expected to suggest and propose new ideas for improving existing communications both internal and external to CRSP.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Communications:
- Content management for HR newsletter, TIAA, Perspectives
- Collaborate with HR to prepare content for Open Enrollment communications to staff
- Partner with HR to keep HR intranet content current and engaging
Research Data Products Release Notes:
- Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual release notes as required with content provided by subject matter experts
Social Media:
- Implement a content calendar with a robust mix of visually compelling and well-written posts for both CRSPMI and RDP and post content to LinkedIn
- Report on metrics monthly and quarterly to management
- Mine Meltwater subscription for content and leverage in social media posts
Website Metrics and Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
- Monitor website metrics on Google Analytics, prepare monthly and quarterly reports for management
- Recommend improvements to website that will improve SEO
Quarterly Newsletter and targeted email campaigns
- Prepare and distribute newsletter to both CRSPMI and RDP – quarterly
- Prepare and distribute targeted email campaigns as identified by Marketing Director
- Report metrics for quarterly newsletter and email campaigns
Intranet:
- Report monthly metrics and suggest content edits that support metrics

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three (3) years of relevant professional experience in a comparable role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent grammar.
- Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent writing and proofreading/editing skills.
- Proficiency with publishing software Adobe Suite and HTML/Web development tools and editors.
- Two (2) years relevant experience in web development, SEO, Google Analytics, and WordPress, with a demonstrated history of initiative and independent action in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Prolonged use of computer and intensive keyboard use.
- Ability to work effectively in both team situations and independently.
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to learning the various aspects of CRSP products.
- Proactive work habits and ability to meet deadlines.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Aptitude for understanding and communicating financial, programming, and mathematical information.
- Experience in documenting software applications for a client environment.
- Experience using Meltwater.
- Experience in supporting, posting, and/or creating social media content in LinkedIn or other business-related websites.
