Job Summary


This role is a part of Business Intelligence which is part of the Finance team. You will be a full member of this small, dynamic team that reports business results, informs strategic action, and implements special projects at a fast-pace growing mid-sized company. Our intent is to attract an individual with the interest and aptitude to grow their skills and advance with the team to levels of greater responsibility and impact. The scope of the Business Intelligence team includes:

Reporting and Data Visualization.

We design and architect the front-end for compelling, best-in-class data visualization solutions that support Client Service, Sales, Finance, Senior Leadership, and the Board.

Strategic Analytics.

We conduct detailed analysis to answer strategic business questions like understanding variations in Advisor productivity and Sales results, developing insights around client retention, measuring channel opportunity and creating a framework for prioritizing which geographies are most attractive for additional M&A.

Data Integration.

We combine data from a variety of sources and business areas; leveraging custom data pipelines (Python, SQL, etc.) to extract, transform, and load to our data warehouse. The BI team has a culture of collaborating to drive continuous reliability and automation enhancements in our reporting processes.

Essential Job Functions


The Analyst will have responsibility for collaborating with team members and functional groups across the company to deliver insights and implement solutions. Key technologies today are Salesforce, Power BI, Python, SQL Server, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.Areas of responsibility include:

  • Support Core Processes – Work with Business Intelligence team members on core processes that support reporting and decision-making
  • Client Pricing – Prepare client-level files for Advisors to implement new fee schedules on clients. Enable client communications on repricing initiatives. Support implementation of new fee schedules in core billing systems.
  • Monthly AUM Flows – Net New Assets (and its revenue equivalent) are one of the most critical monthly metrics followed by senior firm leaders. The Analyst will take ownership of parts of this monthly process to ensure data quality and accurate results.
  • Incentive Compensation – Partner with Finance and HR to develop and adapt incentive compensation plans and help implement and administer the program.
  • Ad hoc Research and Reporting Requirement – Fulfill unique data requests from leadership stakeholders across the firm that help answer business questions about our clients and our performance in delivering our services. Help define future reporting that can fulfill these requests in an automated future state.
  • Sales & Marketing QA Support – Review new sales resources and ensure consistent data and accuracy across resources
  • Deliver Internal Client Solutions in “Full Stack” Data Environment – Partner with internal stakeholders to develop the data sources, dashboards, and data visualizations they require to deliver peak organizational performance.
  • Analysis and Problem Solving – The Analyst should apply superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills, using strong judgment to identify which elements in a project are important and which are just noise or will have a negligible impact on the outcome.

Qualifications


  • 2+ years of data analytics, statistics, and/or reporting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a selective, accredited institution required (with preference to the fields of Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or STEM disciplines)
  • Successful completion of analytic coursework (e.g., economics, mathematics, physical sciences)
  • Results-oriented with proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive with aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively interface with Business Intelligence team members and broader stakeholders across the firm
  • Shows flexibility and adaptability in an environment with rapidly changing business and technology needs
  • Curiosity to learn new skills and eagerness to form new relationships
  • Judgement to prioritize and manage multiple assigned workstreams and deadlines for range of stakeholders
  • Experience preferred with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL Server, Python, Salesforce, and PowerBI.

 Business hours Monday through Friday

Working Conditions: 

Professional office environment.  Working inside.  Standing and sitting.  Will be assigned to a work station.
