Position Summary:


The Software Developer II - ARCU role leads the development, support, and maintenance of the Wellby ARCU Systems and frontend application integration to produce scalable software solutions, while also supporting the operation of our Symitar core platform. Under the direction of the Core Delivery Manager, this position is part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development life cycle.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrator of the ARCU platform, which includes coordinating and executing software upgrades, testing, and deployments.

  • Fully understand and be able to support all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.

  • Utilizes ARCU’s built-in tools to conduct a full range of tasks, including program design, coding, and debugging.

  • Supports the operation of the Symitar core software platform through programming review/creation, data validation, and testing as needed.

  • Represent the Core team in conversations related to strategy with other business leaders.

  • Work with development teams and product owners\managers to ideate software solutions.

  • Perform analysis, design, development (coding), and unit testing working with business leaders to deliver desired reporting capabilities.

  • Performing regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure the stability and performance of the ARCU software. This includes troubleshooting issues, applying patches and updates, and monitoring system performance.

  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design documents, user manuals, and release notes. This documentation helps in understanding the software architecture, facilitating future enhancements, and supporting end-users.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, quality assurance professionals, and project managers, to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver software solutions within project timelines.

  • Staying up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to ARCU software development. Identifying opportunities for process improvements, optimization, and automation to enhance the development lifecycle.

  • Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, including addressing software defects, answering inquiries, and resolving system issues related to the ARCU software.

  • Conducting code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.

  • Must possess financial-industry business acumen that allows technical conversations to be translated into business language, and vice versa.

  • Create and design database, views, stored procedures, T-SQL (or similar), statements, and user-defined functions. Use extensive checks and design patterns to optimize product performance and provide a highly secure environment for all users to prevent data loss.

  • Integration and management of third-party APIs

  • Test software in a sandbox to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.

  • Assist in leading the planning, coordination, and execution of special projects from initiation to completion.

  • Ensures full compliance with Wellby policies, procedures, Service Standards and the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)



  • Knowledge of Wellby’s organizational functions, and general operating policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Knowledge with financial industry standards for data security and regulatory requirements

  • Knowledge of PowerOn and Episys.

  • Knowledge of ARCU.

  • Knowledge of data structure, logic, and algorithms to accomplish business needs.

  • Knowledge of database applications (i.e. SQL).

  • Knowledge of JavaScript stack

  • Skilled in software development methodologies, version control systems, and software testing practices.

  • Skilled in administering ARCU software development.

  • Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines.

  • Ability to oversee the ARCU software operation across the organization.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

  • Ability to efficiently understand and follow oral and written instructions, perform routine duties without close supervision and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members.

  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent activities simultaneously.

  • Ability to use research to resolve issues and escalate issues as needed.

  • Ability to create applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, React JS, React Native, .NET C#, JAVA, JSON, XML, or similar programming languages.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve team success.

Supervisory Responsibilities



  • Team member does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Complexity & Scope of Work



  • The team member performs a moderate number of routine and generally related tasks without supervisory direction.

  • Instructions to the team member may be general or specific in nature.

  • Courses of action are determined by established procedures and/or the Core Delivery Manager.

  • The team member’s work is reviewed periodically for accuracy, completion, and compliance with the policies and procedures.

  • Tasks may occasionally have to be coordinated, integrated, and/or prioritized.

Physical Demands & Work Environment



  • The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represent those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • To perform this job successfully, the team member is frequently required to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.  Daily movements include sitting; standing, reaching, and grasping, operating computers and other office equipment, moving about the office; and attending to possible onsite and offsite meetings.  The team member must be able to exchange information, in person, in writing and via telephone.  Some degree of stress results from contact with management and other team members.

  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

  • Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds across office and load onto shelves for various needs.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Work involves the typical risks and discomforts associated with an office environment but is usually in an area that is adequately cooled, heated, lighted, and ventilated.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business or a related technical field required.

  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant technical experience required. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for one year of required education.

  • Minimum three (3) years of ARCU and/or Symitar PowerOn programming experience preferred.

  • Experience with integration and development of web services APIs (REST/SOAP) preferred.
