We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our fast-paced and dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring smooth and efficient operations by managing payments, overseeing shipping processes, and maintaining inventory levels. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll collaborate with our Merchandising, Customer Experience teams, warehouse, and vendors to ensure every customer receives their order seamlessly. Your work will directly impact over 200,000+ customers, giving you the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of our business while making sure everything runs smoothly.
This is a hands-on role where you'll face new challenges and learn something new every day.
You will:
- Own the end-to-end process of PO and inventory management once the PO is issued. This includes managing and archiving product samples, payments, shipping, answering vendor questions, and resolving receiving issues as necessary
- Determine box packaging for subscription kits to optimize shipping costs, prevent breakage, and minimize waste.
- Assist Director of Operations with warehouse and vendor management as well as international and domestic shipping.
- Work closely with our Customer Experience team to resolve inventory issues with orders.
- Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to ensure products are successfully launched, including building web pages for our boxes and managing our inventory tool.
- Creatively seek ways to improve business relationships and processes.
- Handle drop ship orders including submitting orders, processing payments, and following up with vendors to ensure timely shipment.
- Manage relationships with facilities, building and external office vendors (i.e. food & beverage vendor, cleaning, etc.) and assist People team where needed with office management.
- Handle and adjust internal employee purchases.
- Work out of our New York City office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) in a hybrid model.
The ideal candidate:
- Has experience operating or managing a business function. Direct operations experience isn’t required, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt!
- Has a “no task is beneath me” attitude. You’re willing to roll up your sleeves to complete work as needed.
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills and can effectively interact with cross-functional team members and external vendors.
- Is an analytically minded problem solver who has a proven ability to think critically on their feet.
- Is incredibly organized and understands how to prioritize and quickly shift from one task to the next with a sense of urgency.
- Is excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment with the opportunity to handle a wide variety of tasks.
- Works well with people, but isn’t afraid to be stern with them when things need to get done.
- Gets excited about learning and wants to grow their career in the operations field.
- Is familiar with Excel/Google Sheets.
Compensation, Benefits, and Perks:
- Starting base salary range of $65,000 to $68,000 per year
