Job Responsibilities and Description:
IT Specialists are the frontline, first response for technical issues impacting employees and are critical to successful daily operations across the organization. They staff our helpdesk and participate in our IT Triage rotation to answer questions and handle requests to unblock teams across the company.They have the opportunity to regularly collaborate with mechanical engineers, neurosurgeons, materials scientists, software engineers, veterinary technicians and many other roles to troubleshoot and fix blocking issues.
These include network connectivity, operating systems, identity and access management, onboarding and offboarding, and other business-critical operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Top notch customer service skills. You are all about creating an excellent customer experience for our internal team members!
- Resourceful, flexible and adaptable; no task is too big or too small.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Tenacious debugging skills but able to surface more challenging problems to the broader team.
- Able to create, maintain, and improve internal team documentation.
- Familiar with SaaS productivity platforms (GSuite, MS Office) and user management systems (Microsoft Entra, Google Workspace).
- Experience provisioning and administering Windows, macOS and/or Linux systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with network engineering across multiple vendors like Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, and Ubiquiti.
- Understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DNS, DHCP, WPA.
- Experience managing Audio/Video conferencing setups for crystal-clear and reliable communication.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management such as Apple Business Essentials and Microsoft Intune.
- Experience supporting production lines, medical systems, and/or laboratory settings.
- Software scripting skills with tools like python, ruby, shell, or similar.
- Strong grasp of security fundamentals and compliance requirements.

California Hourly Rate Range:
$21—$46/hr USDFor Full-Time Employees, your compensation package will include two major components: salary and equity. Guidance on salary for this role will be determined according to the level at which you enter the organization, with the ability to gain more over time as you contribute. In addition, Full-Time Employees are eligible for the following benefits listed below.
