This position allows for hybrid work arrangements from the Santa Clara/San Jose, CA areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The focus of this position is safeguarding the principals from safety and security hazards, both in domestic and international locations. The job requires a high level of personal integrity and honesty, confidentiality, good judgment, problem-solving skills, often under pressure, and the ability to follow instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safeguards principals from all forms of security and safety hazards
- Advance work:-Conducts site surveys for events ranging from casual to Head of State level events-Coordinates logistics and plans all details relating to the physical location, including movements in, out, and around the site, while preparing for emergencies and other contingencies
- Primary principal driver:-Operates vehicle in a safe and comfortable manner-Prepare routes in advance, including alternate routes-Conducts vehicle checks for cleanliness, functionality, and fuel level
- Follow driver:-Follows principal vehicle and provides security coverage on the road-Identifies threats and intervenes along the route when appropriate-Renders aid in the event of accidents and other safety hazards
- Close-in protection:-Provides security coverage for principals, guests, and others in a professional and courteous manner while in compliance with policy, procedures, and principal preferences
- Liaison:-Coordinates with internal staff and department heads when providing common support during principal activities and events
- Communications:-Communicate appropriately with all principals and stakeholders-Writes reports and delivers oral and written briefings
- Physical Security:-Standing at a static post or a walking patrol-Providing escorts-Other responsibilities as assigned by the Sr. Director of Executive Protection
- Supervisory Responsibilities:-Routinely manage contract vendors
- Budget Responsibilities:-May be asked to provide insight or collect information for budget activities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands/manual dexterity and fingers to handle or touch/sense, and reach and stretch with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, night vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to climb or balance, crouch, squat, kneel, stoop, or crawl.
- May be required to have a sense of taste and smell.
- Ability to occasionally run or sprint.
- Ability to swim 25 meters, unassisted and without a flotation device
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5 years of related security experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to work collectively and collaboratively
- Ability to obtain a firearm permit for concealed carry and carry a firearm
- Must obtain a guard card
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- This position requires the availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- May be asked to work with limited notice, based on client needs
- This position requires up to 25-30% travel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience with HR218 certification
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
