Job Description


This is not your regular warehouse position, no heavy boxes to move, no moving freight around the warehouse, we hardly ever use our forklift. The technical side is we engineer, and manufacture parts used on aircraft. Some products have intricate requirements for shipping and handling, or may require drawings, specifications, or FAA documentation that is critical when shipping out or receiving in. We need someone that is computer savvy to learn our systems, can find the right parts in inventory, or count, weigh and measure the parts.

They will be able to find and understand the documentation needed to ship or receive the parts. They can read specifications, understand, and execute the correct packaging required. This information is all in our database!

This is why computer savvy is necessary for this position and will be tested!


The ideal candidate should have at least one year of applicable work experience! They must be a quick and independent thinker, helpful, and able to multi-task, and work efficiently in a busy environment with deadlines. The right candidate works well on their own or with others, must be able to think critically, and identifies as a problem solver, a self-starter. They should have excellent attention to detail, a great attitude and be a team player. Software experience with manufacturing ERP, Excel, SharePoint, UPS, and FedEx shipping software is a plus. 

Core Responsibilities - Includes but is not limited to:


  • Loading and unloading technical goods and supplies ensuring proper handling of the same
  • Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipment to verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Identify incoming products by department, differentiates between multiple receipt methods
  • Records receipt of materials in the software system
  • Pick and pack materials, understanding importance of clean and quality pack methods
  • Filing and copying
  • Routes items to the correct departments
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Manage material inventories through cycle counts and physical inventories
  • Ensures and maintains the proper inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • May operate hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area (not more than 50lbs)
  • Perform light facility maintenance tasks such as cleaning and organizing work areas.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
  • Support in the setup and arrangement of equipment and materials in the facility.
  • Any other duties as assigned

Experience & Skills


  • This is a small team environment so candidate must be reliable, punctual, and present when scheduled.
  • You need at least one year of applicable work experience.
  • You need excellent attention to detail, be a quick learner, and always willing to help out when needed!
  • You need good time management skills and able to meet deadlines or target dates and times.
  • We want you to be efficient, aware of what’s happening around you, and curious on what we do, why and how. 
  • You work well on your own or as a team.
  • Excellent Computer Skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, shipping software like UPS, FedEx. 
  • Any previous experience with inventory management software is a plus!
  • You should be able to lift up to 50lbs without difficulty.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions


  • Work is in the back of office facility in a warehouse type setting with roll up doors for pick up and receipt of packages with a cage area with inventory inside. 
  • Your workstation has a computer to review our databases with room to package, ship or receive in product.
  • You may be standing for long periods of time counting, labeling, moving boxes and other administrative tasks.
  • You will consistently move or traverse by walking and pulling product from shelves to ship out or receive in. 
  • You will consistently operate or review orders via a computer and other office machinery like a copier or printer.
  • You must be dexterous using hands and fingers to sort or inspect product or open and breakdown packages. 
  • You will consistently move or transport boxes of product weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally Ascends and Descends a step ladder to place or pull products from higher shelves.

Education


High School Diploma, some college is preferred, computer savvy is a must!!
