He or she should successfully demonstrate the general knowledge and understanding of Seismic Reservoir Characterization (SRC) and Quantitative Interpretation (QI), master the technology and value of each of the GeoSoftware’s products.
For Petrophysics and Rock Physics, the primary focus will be in the petrophysics interpretation and rock physics modeling domains and the corresponding GeoSoftware products.Geoscientist also provides technical support to customers to rapidly adopt new technologies, accelerate business objectives and achieve faster results. He or she should successfully identify solutions to issues that hinder the full benefits of GeoSoftware products.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Requirements
- Understand the value proposition of GeoSoftware technology, products and the benefit of cross-products workflow, in particular, PowerLog, RPM and RockSI. Also, the limitations.
- Able to perform Rock Physics Diagnostics, Well Log Data QC, Well Log Conditioning, reservoir Petrophysics, Seismic Petrophysics, Rock Physics Modeling and Seismic-Well Tie Validation studies under supervision
- Understanding of software parameterization, QC and usage.
- Create presentations covering different workflows or key tools for the purpose of expanding and sharing knowledge.
- Eager to acquire a higher level of software proficiency and expertise in petrophysics, rock physics and reservoir characterization domains.
- Perform quality assurance testing of new software releases.
Professional Services
- Run proof of concept/ feasibility study/ pilot study/ project services at GeoSoftware or client site under supervision.
- Drive a proficient software demonstration to customers.
- Able to support simple software evaluation.
- Assist in teaching classes to internal audience as well as customers.
Customer Support
- ▪Provide customer software support activities for technical issues via email, telephone, web and on-site.
- Address customer usage and implementation needs.
- Support customers on technical issues including problems related to installation, enterprise networks, servers, and workstations.
- Keep track and document all customers’ activities/support to HubSpot and Jira.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
Sales and Marketing
- Able to prepare and present fit-for-purpose presentations to show the unique value of GeoSoftware products to customers.
- Co-author or author technical publication for local or international conferences.
- Attending trade shows and societal events to assist senior colleagues to deliver, or deliver by self, technology presentations and software demonstrations.
- Gather market intelligence of customers and competition activities to Business Manager to generate leads and advance position of GeoSoftware products.
- Work with Sales team to identify sales opportunities from support calls, training or on-site support.
Qualifications & RequirementsRequired:▪ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Petrophysics, Rock Physics, Petroleum Engineering, Geophysics, Geology, Petroleum Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering or equivalent.▪ 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas industry with background in petrophysics, rock physics or petroleum engineering and familiarity with corresponding software support.▪ Strong computer skills on Windows and Linux platforms.▪ Proficient in written and spoken English.Technical Certification:▪ Certified Level 2 in PowerLog, Statmin, RPM and RockSI, plus,▪ Basic knowledge Level 1 in JasonWorkbench and HampsonRussell.Travel▪ Ability and willingness to travel frequently (domestic and international) for training, conference and on-site customers’ activities.We value the unique ways in which we differ, and we are committed to equal employment opportunities for all professionals.Please submit your application via the application button.
