Summary
The Manager of Detox is responsible for the daily administrative operations of the 24/7 detox program and oversees the quality of care provided by the detox program team, comprised of residential team members, AOD counselors, and other healthcare staff. This position will maintain the program schedule, staffing ratios, budget, evaluate grants, and assist with developing policies, procedures, and workflows for the detox and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment clients while cultivating relationships with partner agencies and networking in the community.
The Manager of Detox, with support of the Detox Supervisor, will oversee the program waitlist and intake process. Expected start date is 1/02/2025
Essential Functions
- Manages program budget, expenses and grants (e.g. tracking/submitting data, managing/tracking spending, ensuring grant requirements are met). Ensure compliance with billing and reimbursement requirements, maximizing revenue potential while maintaining program integrity.
- Recruits, screens, interviews, and approves non-management candidates for hire. Retains a high performing, accountable workforce by monitoring work performance, completing performance appraisals, and administering disciplinary action when needed.
- Oversees client referrals, staff caseload equity, quality of inpatient SUD services, treatment and audits.
- Monitors quality metrics for department and shares with team.
- Creates strategic goals, policies, procedures and workflows. Keeps abreast of industry standards and best practices, engages in community resources and affiliations as necessary to improve program functioning.
- Develops marketing materials and participates in outreach activities to increase referrals and client engagement.
- Supports clients and/or facilitates client groups, as needed, including accompanying client documentation and participates in a multidisciplinary team of providers to assure holistic care of all program participants.
- May attend SUD-related community events and act as a liaison between our program and the larger SUD treatment provider community.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local law, and comply with all standards to maintain licensure as a Certified substance use disorder facility with DHCS.
- Identify and coordinate appropriate training and opportunities for skills development for the SUD treatment team, including but not limited to, MI, Harm Reduction, MAT, and other evidence-based training. Conducts SUD trainings for FJV staff and surrounding community when appropriate.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual client needs for a person-centered approach.
- Requires the position to be on-call and available for contact by staff outside of standard office hours, to include weekends and holidays.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is safe, inclusive and culturally sensitive to the needs of diverse staff, volunteers and clients.
- On time completion of assigned training and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. psychology, social work, addiction studies or equivalent) or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (e.g. CCAPP, CDAP, CATC). Licensed Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselor (LAADC) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment/counseling addiction profession. This includes experience working within a harm reduction treatment model and experience working with Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) treatment, is preferred.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience to include training, performance management, employee coaching, and retaining an engaged and accountable workforce.
- CPR/BLS certified (can be obtained after hire).
- Bilingual preferred.
- Intermediate user of MS Office and electronic health record systems.
