As a Credit Analyst I, you will work closely with experienced credit analysts and underwriters, gaining practical knowledge in financial analysis, risk assessment, and credit decision-making. This role is designed to introduce you to the essential components of assessing the creditworthiness of businesses seeking loans.
You will:
- Perform cursory analysis of financial documents to evaluate the creditworthiness of commercial loan applicants.
- Learn to assess the financial health of businesses by analyzing key financial metrics, such as liquidity, profitability, and leverage.
- Analyze personal and business credit reports to identify credit risks associated with commercial loan applicants.
- Prepare a brief statement based on established criteria and policies summarizing underwriting recommendations for commercial loan decisions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to communicate underwriting decisions to loan applicants and address inquiries or provide information.
- Assess the impact of the guarantor on the company’s ability to service debt.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
You have:
- At least one year of hands-on experience in underwriting or credit analysis; preferably 2-3 years within the industry.
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline.
- A robust understanding of GAAP accounting principles, showcasing the ability to dissect financial statements and business bank statements.
- Knowledge of the U.S. small business lending landscape, coupled with insights into various industry risk segments.
- Well-developed organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, G-Suite, and the ability to swiftly adapt to new programs and CRM systems.
- Strong critical thinking, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- The ability to make informed and complex decisions under pressure within a fast-paced environment.

$60,000 - $75,000 a yearA reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $60,000 to $75,000 per year.
