Summary
The Supportive Housing Custodian will provide custodial services to enhance case management services by assisting tenants to achieve health and safety standards of cleanliness in their units. This position will primarily provide custodial services to clients who are case managed by FJV, but could be required to support clients who are case managed by other providers at the property.
Essential Functions
- Develop modules related to maintaining a clean unit in consideration of the needs and abilities of the participants as well as life skills. Teach Modules in a variety of formats including small group, one on one, and large group to promote and track health and safety standards for clients.
- Assists with deep cleaning of client units which includes sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, vacuuming, washing surfaces and cleaning up biohazard material.
- Documents and communicates with team members, including case notes, pass down of pertinent client information and other administrative tasks delegated by supervisor. Records client participation in activities and custodial services in CStar database.
- Supports clients in learning and engaging in life skills to prepare for pest control treatment
- Initiates and plans the monthly calendar in conjunction with the Tenant Services Coordinators and makes information available via bulletin boards, newsletters, etc.
- Engages in Multi-disciplinary approach to services (MAS) meetings and provides updates on client progress. Attends FJV meetings with management to receive referrals from Alpha TPSS, VA and Center Star ACT
- Learns and performs sanitation methods that protect public health within the building and reduce the spread of disease, pests and other materials hazardous to human health.
- On time completion of assigned training and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be requested to assist other PSH programs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of experience working with underserved populations and/or prior case management.
- Basic user of MS Office.
- Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver's license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.
Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be granted where appropriate.
