SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER IN TEST (SDET)
Stellar Science is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test to help shape and maintain all aspects of software development from a quality perspective.At Stellar Science, everyone in the team owns software quality and testing. The primary function for this role is to make that process easier by contributing to our existing test suites. This not only means automating new tests, but also involves implementing changes that will make our automated tests more efficient and reliable.
Other key functions for this role include diagnosing test failures, working with others to resolve issues, maintaining our Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines, and occasionally manually testing software. This approach means that this position will not involve regular late-night testing sessions to meet release deadlines or serving as the gatekeeper to quality.The ideal candidate will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle to improve both the development and user experience.
Our stack:
- Developing: CMake, C++, Qt, Python, JavaScript
- Testing: Boost, Squish, PyTest, Selenium
- CI: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket, Groovy
Required:
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed
- Three or more years of professional experience in software testing and automation
- Willingness to undergo background investigation and perform some work at government sites
Desired:
- Experience with any of the technologies mentioned above
- B.S. in computer science, physics, math, engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience working in space, directed energy, imaging, or other science or engineering domains
- Active U.S. Government Security Clearance
