A DAY IN THE LIFE:


The Application Engineer serves as the initial point of contact for customer issues and technical inquiries, focusing on enhancing the customer experience while interacting with Innoflight products. This position requires close collaboration with Product Engineers to produce, maintain, and improve user developer manuals and Reference Designs, along with managing the customer support request tracking database and providing regular metric reports to management.

  • Enhances Developer Experience: Works to improve the overall developer experience for customers, ensuring they have the resources and support needed.
  • Collaborates on Documentation: Partners with Product Engineers to manage revisions and distribution of all user-facing documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Coordinates Reference Designs: Collaborates on the distribution of Reference Designs and Customized Reference Designs for developer packages.
  • Documents Customer Interactions: Maintains a database of customer support email exchanges to identify areas for improvement in user guides.
  • Validates Software Builds: Tests and validates software build instructions and test scripts as detailed in user documentation through end unit test runs.
  • Addresses Customer Inquiries: Provides assistance for customer inquiries regarding custom software builds used on Innoflight hardware.
  • Manages Support Requests: Handles the customer support request tracking database and provides input on support needs during contract discussions.
  • Communicates Product Notifications: Acts as the direct line of communication for customers regarding product notifications and manages related customer lists.
  • Participates in Integration Testing: Engages in the integration and testing of software and hardware, focusing on enhancing the customer experience.
  • Handles RMAs: Determines when reported issues should be converted into Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Reports Metrics: Collects, analyzes, and reports customer support metrics to upper management, helping to inform decision-making.
  • Develops Training Material: Creates training materials for Innoflight products and conducts on-site or virtual training sessions with customers.
  • Gathers Customer Inputs: Works with Business Development to gather customer feedback for design improvements.
  • Stays Updated on Trends: Keeps abreast of industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to recommend enhancements.
  • Contributes to FAQ Knowledge Base: Adds to the Frequently Asked Questions knowledge base to streamline troubleshooting processes.
  • Participates in Design Reviews: Provides input on usability and customer requirements during product design reviews.
  • Supports Product Demos: Assists in the development and execution of product demonstrations for prospective customers.
  • Optimizes Processes: Continuously seeks ways to improve customer support efficiency and product delivery.
  • Provides Feedback: Identifies improvements for customer experience and on-time delivery through closed-loop feedback.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science) required.
  • Four or more years of related experience or training in embedded systems and embedded Linux, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Two or more years of Linux application or driver development experience on embedded systems.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:


The starting base pay range for this position is $105,000 - $125,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, Innoflight offers a competitive compensation package that includes Profit-Sharing Bonus, Cash Performance Bonus, and a robust benefits package.Innoflight offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and life insurance. Ancillary benefits such as critical illness, accident, short term & long-term disability, pet insurance, ID & Legal Shield, Cal-Perks and EAP.   You’ll also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 120 hours of paid time off (starting in year 1) and auto enrolled into our 401K with a 3% automatic company match.
