Maintenance Technician I


Summary


The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role involves responding to maintenance requests, performing inspections, and assisting with general upkeep of the organization's buildings and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of building systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a supportive and respectful manner.

Essential Functions


  • Perform general maintenance and repairs including but not limited to, plumbing, basic electrical work, general carpentry, patching & painting
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and organizational policies
  • Report any safety hazards or code violations to the Facilities Manager
  • Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to coordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks
  • Document work completed in computerized maintenance management system, communicates with service requestors to ensure requests are completed, report any follow-up or assistance needed from department leadership
  • Responsible for proper care/cleaning of tools, parts, materials and work area
  • On time completion of assigned training and policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-year experience performing basic trade work
  • Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver’s license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the last 36 months
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, con
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet department needs
